Peer Review Process

Before publishing the articles in this quarterly periodical are triple-blind peer reviewed. Articles are reviewed with an external expert review. Reviews are anonymous. The article is included in the editorial procedure if it meets the criteria for publication. Reviewers receive the text of the article without the author's personal information, and they review the article according to the indicators set and propose improvements. After completing the review process, the editorial board returns the article to the author to approve the corrections, take them into account, and to prepare a clean copy. The author is obliged to review the improvements and to take them into account. In case any of the proposed improvements is disregarded, it should clarify it in the writing.

Ethical guidelines

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal is an essential building block in the development of a profession. Periodical literature is the most widely used manner of communication for an audience of professionals in the field since it is the most suitable mode of dissemination of research findings. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is therefore important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behaviour for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editors, the peer reviewers and the publisher of journals.

An important role of the publisher is to support the extensive efforts of journal editors and peer reviewers in ensuring the integrity of the scholarly record. Editorial board recognizes the responsibilities as the keeper of the guidelines it has adopted to support editors, reviewers and authors in performing their ethical duties. Slovenian Nursing Review follows the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals.

All accepted articles are checked against plagiarism with Detektor podobnih vsebin (DPV); developed by University of Maribor, and with iThenticate (articles are included to the database of Turnitin).
