Tasks of occupational therapist in atheosis associated with cerebral paralysis
Abstract
The paper presents the basic features of therapeutic management of children with atheotic derangement. The first step consists of functional occupational therapy (playing under guidance of a therapist, training in directed gripping, active exercises for rough and specific coordination of hands and fingers) followed by training in skills of daily living: undressing, dressing, eating and personal hygiene. Adequate level of functional and psychical capacity of the child constitutes the basis for implementation of the individual-oriented habilitation programme. The results of the adjusted training programme utilizing appropriate therapeutic and motivation procedures exceed those yielded by inadapted programmes by 30 %.Downloads
