Therapy of hemophilia and von willebrand's disease in slovenia
Abstract
The author presents the concept of prompt outpatient care of hemophiliacs, which implies early treatment of bleeding episodes. The indications for replacement therapy and the determination of doses are dealt with. This concept was adopted by the Professional Board of the Slovenian Society of Hemophilia in 1981 to constitute a doctrine of the hemophilia therapy compulsorily used in the entire Republic of Slovenia. The author points out the value of home transfusion therapy programmes, which, according to the World Federation of Hemophilia, ensure the highest standards of hemophiliac care, and stresses the need for introducing this form of care in Slovenia as soon as possible.Downloads
