Psychological care in general hospital – a joint project of nurses and clinical health psychologist

The first part of the article ennumerates the resons for the introduction of the model of preventive psychological health care in a general hospital, followed by a scheme of psychological health care with the following elements: evaluation of psychological state and psychological needs of a patient, informational and educational part of nursing care, emotional support, counseling, advocacy of patient’s needs and self-help. The article presents the role of a clinical health psychologist and other memebers of a multidisciplinary hospital team.Downloads
