Abstract

Realization that transfer of spongiform encefalopathy from cattle to man is possible cause the introduction of numerous measures to stop the spreading of the disease which have already brought first results. A big problem in the prevention of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease is represented by the resistence of the agents (prions). The article brings a surevey of literature and major findings in this field.
