Abstract

The aim of the research study carried out in the institution for the elderly in Maribor was to find out whether nurses recognize abuse and violence against the elderly at their work place. At the work place, physical and psychological violence and financial abuse is most often encountered upon which nurses and nursing technicians experience feeling of sadness, anger and powerlessness and want to help and report cases of violence and abuse to their superiors.
