Povzetek

Uvod: V obdobju bolezni je kakovosten spanec zelo pomemben, ker pozitivno vpliva na metabolizem, uravnavanje hormonov in ohranjanje imunskega sistema. Namen raziskave je bil ocena kakovosti spanja hospitaliziranih pacientov ter identifikacija dejavnikov, ki vplivajo na spanje.
Metode: Izvedena je bila neeksperimentalna kvantitativna metoda raziskovanja. Instrument raziskave sestavljajo vprašalnik Richards Campbell Sleep Questionnaire in trinajst vprašanj/trditev, oblikovanih na podlagi pregleda literature, na priložnostnem vzorcu 100 pacientov. Vključenih je bilo 56 (56 %) žensk in 44 (44 %) moških. Anketiranci so bili stari od 19 do 89 let (x = 65,37, s = 15,676). Povprečna ležalna doba anketiranih je bila 13,6 dni (x = 13,68, s = 12,178).
Rezultati: Spanec med hospitalizacijo je kot slab (26,0 %) in zelo slab (12,5 %) skupaj ocenilo 38,5 % pacientov. Ženske so statistično značilno pogosteje kot moški ocenile, da imajo plitek spanec (x = 60,80, s = 28,88) (U = 865,500, p = 0,011). Trajanje hospitalizacije ni bilo povezano s kakovostjo spanca (r = -0,154, p = 0,127). Hrup pred bolniško sobo v nočnem času je bil moteč za 5,0 % pacientov. Hrup, ki ga povzročajo zdravstveni delavci v sobi med izvajanjem aktivnosti pri drugem pacientu, moti 8,0 % pacientov.
Diskusija in zaključek: Manj kot polovica anketiranih je svoj spanec v času hospitalizacije ocenila kot slab ali zelo slab. Strategije za izboljšanje kakovosti spanja bi morale spadati med dejavnike kakovostne oskrbe hospitaliziranih pacientov.
