Abstract

The paper presents the injuries which occurred due to insufficient safety measures in the coal mines during the first postwar years. As recently the classical method of coal excavation has been abandoned and the mechanization and an appropriate safety service have been introduced, the incidence of mine injuries has been considerably decreasing. The article is supplemented by statistical data on mine injuries relerring to causes and places with greatest exposure to accidents. The authors made use of data available in the lifes of ambulance station of the Trbovlje coal mine.
