Bone bank-bone grafts
Abstract
Bone bank is an indispensable acquisition of modem surgery, but its expensive equipment and bone preparation procedures still account for the fact that it is quite often inaccessible even to large medical departments. Therefore, many foreign hospital departments have recourse to lyophilized grafts or occasional1y, fresh allogralts supply. The paper describes structure of the bone, choice of donors, techniques of lyophilization and use of grafts. The author thinks that thanks to certain advantages of lyophilized grafts, an increase in their use is to be anticipated in the future.Downloads
