Abstract

The article is part of an extensive bibliometric and content analysis of the Journal of the Slovenian Nursing Association (JSNA), which was the topic of the first author’s MSc thesis. The empirical research focuses on content in the JSNA and research of nurses. The analysis is based on 843 papers, published in the Articles section between 1976 and 2001. When analysing article type, we found that A.D.-level nurses contributed the largest percentage of technical articles. Nurses with a Bachelor degree recently contributed 30 % of the research articles. The analysis of the descriptors showed that the nurses approach publishing in nursing care with both technical and research articles. This is largly due to the increase of nurses with Bachelor degree.
