The significance of mentorship and practical training in the educational process for nursing care

Abstract

The experience of the students from the practical environment and clinical settings are more important elements in the process of education for nursing care. The role of a mentor is indispensable in the process of leading, directing and development of future generations. To be a mentor means to have the privileges and responsibilities, to help the students to master and join theory with practice. The contents of the present article stem from the analysis and gathering of sources from literature. For the purpose of the presentation of the contents and concepts, the descriptive research method was used. The aim of the article is to illustrate practical training in nursing care with the stress on mentorship and its significance for practice of good quality. Practical training is the central part of education which helps develop skills, critical attitude, analytical thinking and self reflection.
